Christopher DiOrio A refined Wilderness has emerged, akin to the enigmatic aura of Lungfish. Vulture Feather deftly crafts a sprawling auditory panorama that meanders between the ethereal realm and the abyss of profound sentiment. Their debut leaves me nostalgic for memories I've never experienced.Album of the year. Favorite track: Illusion of Time.

Inseparable 04:53
Like dust In the rain Like a prayer On a train The vacant hour The precious hush I long to see your face And to feel your touch Bereft of reasoning Nothing left For me to sing Let us walk hand in hand As the virgin stands In our mother's land From the void Appears the form As the eye, The storm It's inseparable If this never began How could it ever end? It's fading now Turned inside out A strand of rainbow light It's fading now Turned inside out A flash in the dark of night
2.
Bad Land 03:34
Wasting in the hot sun Down from the mountain Looking over shoulder Wife say's you're getting older Can't sleep; your wigging lights Ah the wagon whites No time to make a stand When you're passing through a badland
3.
Deep inside Beyond the names Fear and pride Praise and blame I hear your call I turn away The gate dissolves Ringing in the bell Ringing in the bell of renewal Ringing in the bell Ringing in the bell of renewal It's a union It's a union Deep inside Beyond the names Fear and pride Praise and blame I hear your call I turn away The gate dissolves Ringing in the bell Ringing in the bell of renewal Ringing in the bell Ringing in the bell of renewal It's a union It's a union
4.
On the cusp of a new day Gazing through an open door Ushering words through silence This is once in a lifetime And then it's gone Calling out your name Frightened by a dream Peeling back the layers of sadness In the clear light of your eyes They're all set free The sweetest sound Echoes through the hall Melting the ice of memory As the sun smiles down on Your true face. Out on the neck of the harbour Watching as the shadows fall One by one they come and go Boats growing small Until they're gone The distant shore A tiny point in space Like a wave on the ocean In a flash it arises And then recedes Without a name But still it's all we see Bottled up inside for all these years In a glance, with a gesture It blazes forth On the cusp of a new day Gazing through an open door Ushering words through silence This is once in a lifetime And then it's gone Calling out your name Frightened by a dream Peeling back the layers of sadness In the clear light of your eyes They're all set free The sweetest sound Echoes through the hall Melting the ice of memory As the sun smiles down on Your true face.

Monument 05:05
This is the dawning Of a new currency Clear the way For the rising sun This is the dawning Of a new currency Clear the way For the rising sun This is the dawning Of a new currency Clear the way For the rising sun Passing through and gazing out It's harder now to figure out Thought I knew what it's about Please bless my mind, release this doubt From verdant majesty to the moon A thousand years in an afternoon Did you awake from that ancient swoon To be swept away in your mother's broom? The tallest gods brought to their knees Not parasite nor disease Nevermore to feel the breeze A charnel ground of burning trees I saw you standing through the haze Behind you, mountains stand ablaze As oceans fold back into waves And we move blindly for our graves
6.
Be Still 04:36
In darkness In quiet Be still Don't wait now Come hither Be still We're dreaming This moment Be still I'm dying In secret Be still Turning In stages Away As water runs over the land Watching from inside The sky Cresting from inside The wave Turning In stages Away No longer Shall you hold sway Hold now The hand of Your friend Light now The lamp Of her love In darkness In quiet Be still Don't wait now Come hither Be still We're dreaming This moment Be still I'm dying In secret Be still
7.
Its the illusion of time Running out When you're not watching Consoled by the ribbons of sound Laying down All around you As an invisible light echo Forms an horizon And the particle you The particle me Are embracing Its the illusion of time Running out When you're not watching Consoled by the ribbons of sound Laying down All around you As an invisible light echo Forms an horizon And the particle you The particle me Are embracing When it's time You'll know For now Let it go

'Twas on a fateful autumn night The cold coming down Your ships all set sail for the cardinal directions But you were already there And who among us is free of betrayal? For whom the bell shall toll For this time it 'twas not the axe that would fall From space into space came the call And you said: Ah It's good to be home Ah It's good to be home And where has the time gone? And where did i park the car? I saw you slipping out when no one was looking In that borrowed suit made of stars And where did i park the car? I saw you slipping out when no one was looking In that borrowed suit made of stars And you said

about

Vulture Feather is a post/pre/future punk band from the mountains of northern California featuring members of the Baltimore band Wilderness. These songs are amorphous vessels encapsulating the dream-like, liminal fields that all of us as beings are passing through from one moment to the next. The spaces in between the events that seem to be arising incessantly from the powerful projector that is our mind. Beyond the reaches of time, neither remaining nor departing.
